How We Get Paid?

Transparency in Commissions

We would like to be fair and transparent with our customers, and it is your right to know how we earn or get paid. Following are the details:

  • Commissions from Suppliers: Fast Utilities Limited receives a commission once we successfully broker an energy contract between you and the supplier. Our commission amount is included within the energy unit rate (kWh), and we collect our commission directly from the energy supplier. You will not be asked to pay us separately. All energy suppliers work on different commission models, which are mentioned below:

Commission Models

Upfront Commission Model Residual Commission Model
  1. We receive 80% of the commission as an upfront payment and 20% on completion of the contract.
  2. Commission amount (£ or uplift added pence/kWh per unit) is clearly mentioned on the contract paperwork sent to the customer.
  3. Uplift pence/kWh is determined by Fast Utilities Limited.
  4. Commission amount is calculated based on estimated annual usage, uplift added, and tenure of the contract.
  5. The supplier may reconcile the commission amount based on actual usage or billed usage.
  6. Our commissions are subject to clawback. For example, if you terminate the contract before the agreed term or your usage has dropped.
For example:
  • Standing Charge: 45.00 pence/day
  • Unit Rate: 24.00 pence/kWh
  • Uplift Added: 1.0 pence/kWh
  • Contract Term: 2 Years
  • Estimated Annual Usage: 10,000 kWh
Commission calculation:

10,000 x 2 x 1 ÷ 100 = £200.00 per contract

(EAC) x (No. of Years) x (Uplift) ÷ 100 = £ (Commission Amount) per contract
  1. We receive commission based on monthly/quarterly billed usage.
  2. Uplift pence/kWh is determined by Fast Utilities Limited.
For example:
  • Standing Charge: 45.00 pence/day
  • Unit Rate: 24.00 pence/kWh
  • Uplift Added: 1.0 pence/kWh
  • Contract Term: 2 Years
  • Billed Usage (per month): 1,000 kWh
Commission calculation:

1,000 x 1 ÷ 100 = £10.00 per month

(Billed Usage) x (Uplift) ÷ 100 = £ (Commission Amount) per month
